Space Manager - Adams Intercultural Center

Position Title: Space Manager – Adams Intercultural Center (AIC)   

Semester/Year: 2025-2026 Academic Year

Total Positions Available: Multiple

Supervisor: Renee Grant

Pay rate: $15.50 per hour 

Start Date: August 2025

End Date: May 2026

HOURS NEEDED: • Mon. & Wed. 7pm – 10pm • Sunday: 4:00pm – 10:00pm

 

Description

The Adams Intercultural Center (AIC) at Hobart and William Smith Colleges seeks a passionate and responsible Student Space Manager to oversee the day-to-day operation of the center, ensuring it serves as a welcoming, safe, and inclusive space for students. The Student Space Manager will foster a sense of community and provide support for programs and events that promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and intercultural engagement.   

 

This role is ideal for a student who is organized, reliable, and committed to building inclusive campus spaces that promote intercultural dialogue and connection.   

 

Responsibilities

  • Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for all students.
  • Monitor the physical space to ensure it is clean, organized, and welcoming.
  • Maintain records of space usage, attendance, and event reports.
  • Manage the setup, teardown, and maintenance of event spaces, furniture, and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with building policies and safety protocols.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of events, workshops, and activities hosted by the AIC.
  • Provide logistical support, including event setup, A/V support, and post-event cleanup.
  • Promote the AIC as a resource by engaging with students, faculty, and staff.
  • Gather feedback from visitors and users to improve space utilization and programming.
  • Assist with communications, such as promoting events on social media and campus platforms.
  • Attend all scheduled meetings with the AIC team and contribute ideas for improving operations and programming.

Qualifications

  • Must be in good academic and social standing.
  • Financial Aid work study prioritized.
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with A/V equipment and basic technology troubleshooting
