Pay rate: $15.50 per hour 

Start Date: August 2025

End Date: May 2026

Hours per week: 5-10

 

Description

The Adams Intercultural Center (AIC) at Hobart and William Smith Colleges is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Student Office Assistant to provide administrative and office support during traditional work hours (8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.). This position is ideal for students interested in gaining professional office experience while contributing to the mission of fostering inclusion, belonging, and intercultural engagement on campus.

 

Responsibilities

  • Front Desk Reception: Greet visitors, answer phones, and direct inquiries to appropriate staff.
  • Administrative Support: Assist with office tasks such as data entry, photocopying, scanning, and maintaining organized records.
  • Communications: Help draft, post, and distribute flyers and social media updates related to AIC events and programs.
  • Scheduling & Event Prep: Support scheduling of appointments, meetings, and event logistics (printing materials, room reservations, supply organization).
  • Supply & Space Management: Help maintain inventory of office and event supplies; ensure shared spaces are neat, welcoming, and ready for use.

  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, email, social media platforms).
