Payrate: $15.50 per hour

LABS AVAILABLE
- Tuesdays 1:10- 4:10 (plus 1/2 hour for before and after setup/takedown, plus 1/2 hour for weekly meeting with Prof. Kendrick)
- Wednesdays 1:10- 4:10 (plus 1/2 hour before and after setup/takedown, plus 1/2 hour for weekly meeting with Prof. Kendrick)
LECTURE TIME TAship AVAILABLE
- Lecture MWF 10:50-11:50 Assist with in-class lab activities
POSITION SUMMARY
The Geoscience Department is seeking an experienced Geo 184 student to be a Teaching Assistant (TA) in Geo 184 for the Fall 2025 semester.
Job Requirements:
- Successful completion of Geo 184
- Successful completion of van certification after hiring
- Ability to work well with peers, providing guidance on exercises
- Proficiency in identifying the course suite of minerals and rocks and working with geological maps
- Excellent field skills
- Availability during the scheduled lab time
Responsibilities
- Assist students with lab exercises and field work
- Provide guidance and support to peers
- Help identify minerals and rocks
- Work with geological maps
- Ensure a productive and supportive learning environment
Qualifications
- Ability to work well with peers, providing guidance on exercises
- Proficiency in identifying the course suite of minerals and rocks and working with geological and tectonic maps
- Excellent field skills
- Strong communication skills
- Willingness to take initiative
- Dependable and punctual
