Position Title: Mathematics TA

Semester/Year: Fall 2025 

Total Positions Available: 5 (one for each lab, though a student may apply for multiple labs)

Supervisors: Professors Bell, Biermann and Eames

Pay rate: $15.50 per hour 

Start Date: September 1, 2025

End Date: December 12, 2025

 

LABS AVAILABLE

  • MATH 100 with Professor Eames, Thursdays, 11:30AM-1:00PM
  • MATH 130 with Professor Eames, Thursdays, 9:50-11:20AM
  • MATH 130 with Professor Bell, Tuesdays, 9:50-11:20AM
  • MATH 130 with Professor Bell, Tuesdays, 11:30AM-1:00PM
  • MATH 131 with Professor Biermann, Thursdays, 11:30AM-1:00PM
  • MATH 131 with Professor Biermann, Thursdays, 1:10-2:40PM

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Successful completion of the course for which you wish to TA.
  • Experience discussing mathematics with peers, even if not in a formal tutorial situation (for example, collaborating on mathematical exercises in a class).
  • Availability during the scheduled lab time.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Possess extremely strong communication skills and be willing to take initiative.
  • Ability to admit when you do not know the answer to a question.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Review of applications will begin August 27th and continue until positions are filled. Interested applicants are to submit a cover letter and a resume. Applicants should indicate in their cover letter for which lab they are interested in working and why. Include references that can attest to your knowledge and experience, whether a former instructor for a class for which you were a student, or a lab instructor for a lab for which you were a TA.
