Position Title: Greek and Roman Studies: Latin TA 

Semester/Year: 2025 Fall Semester 

Total Positions:1

Supervisor: Jim Capreedy

Pay rate: $15.50

Hours per week: 3

Start Date: Sept. 8th, 2025

End Date: Dec. 18th, 2025

 

Latin Teaching Assistant

  • provide one-on-one or small-group tutoring, lead review sessions, and offer practical advice on effective methods for learning and retaining Latin vocabulary and grammatical structures. Experience with Medieval Latin texts is highly desirable, as the TA may occasionally assist students encountering post-classical Latin materials.

Responsibilities

  • offer weekly review sessions and 
  • office hours for the 101 course
  • office hours for the 200-level.

Qualifications

  • Be in good academic standing
  • Well-organized and responsible
  • Strong communication skills, patience, and a passion for teaching are essential.
  • A passing grade in at least one 200-level Latin course 
  • strong foundation in Latin grammar, including the case system, verb conjugations, and syntactic structures.
  • Experience with Medieval Latin texts
