Women in Business Intern

Supervisor: Craig Talmage

Pay rate: $15.50 per hour 

Hours per wk: 5-6

Start Date: September 2, 2025 

End Date: December 19, 2025

 

POSITION SUMMARY

The Bozzuto Center for Entrepreneurship (BCE) seeks a dynamic and motivated individual to serve as the Women in Business Leadership Intern. This intern will play a key role in expanding opportunities, visibility, and resources for female-identifying students interested in business and entrepreneurship at Hobart and William Smith Colleges. The position focuses on growing the Women in Business program, developing funding opportunities, strengthening peer support networks, and ensuring robust representation of women across BCE initiatives such as The Pitch, IdeaLab, and other programs.

The ideal candidate will combine leadership experience, strong organizational and communication skills, and a passion for advancing equity and inclusion in business education and practice.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Program Growth and Support

  • Help grow and sustain funding for the Women in Business program and related initiatives.
  • Propose, develop, and implement new events, workshops, and programs designed to support female-identifying students in business.
  • Lead Women in Business programs that foster skill development, networking, and mentorship.
  • Support and collaborate with the Women in Business Club to advance their mission and activities.

 

Representation and Engagement

  • Promote and support the participation of female-identifying students in BCE programs, including The Pitch, IdeaLab, and other entrepreneurship initiatives.
  • Actively recruit and mentor students to engage in BCE opportunities.
  • Develop content and resources to elevate the visibility and impact of women in business on campus.

 

Collaboration and Leadership

  • Work with faculty, staff, and student organizations to expand cross-campus engagement and community for women in business.
  • Represent the BCE and Women in Business at events, utilizing public speaking and networking skills to foster awareness and build partnerships.
  • Contribute creative ideas and solutions to strengthen the overall impact of the Women in Business initiative.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated leadership or organizational experience at HWS or in a community setting.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with diverse groups.
  • Creativity, initiative, and passion for advancing equity and inclusion in business.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in business, leadership, or entrepreneurship.
  • Experience with mentorship, event planning, or program development.
