Geneva 2030 is a collective impact initiative based at Hobart and William Smith Colleges that unites schools, colleges, nonprofits, and community organizations to ensure every child in Geneva thrives from cradle to career.
Why This Role Matters
With nearly 40% of Geneva students identifying as Hispanic/Latino and 24% as English Language Learners, translation is essential to making sure families can fully access opportunities, services, and resources without relying on children to interpret. This role helps build equity and inclusion across our community.
Responsibilities
- Translate community flyers, newsletters, and program updates from English to Spanish.
- Use Canva or similar platforms to prepare bilingual or translingual flyers and communication materials.
- Collaborate with Geneva 2030 staff and partners to ensure translations are accurate, clear, and culturally appropriate.
- Support partners in developing signage and entryway materials that welcome bilingual families.
Qualifications
Fluency in Spanish and English, with strong written communication skills in both.
Comfortable using Canva or similar platforms to design or edit flyers.
Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines.
Culturally competent and committed to supporting bilingual families.
