Position Summary
The Office of Marketing and Communications is seeking a skilled and dependable student photographer to join our team for the fall semester. This is a great opportunity for students interested in photography, visual storytelling or digital media.
Student photographers help document campus life through dynamic and engaging images that appear on the HWS website, social media and print publications.
This position is open to all qualified students, including those eligible for Federal Work Study and International Student Work Study.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Photograph a wide range of campus events, including student activities, lectures, performances, and athletic contests
- Work evening and weekend shifts as assigned
- Deliver high-quality, edited photos on deadline
- Organize and upload photos to the office archive system
- Collaborate with the Communications team to identify visual needs and support storytelling projects
Qualifications:
- Strong photography skills and familiarity with DSLR or mirrorless cameras
- Willingness to cover a wide variety of campus events and subjects
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively and meet deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and visual composition
- Experience with photo editing software such as Lightroom or Photoshop preferred
- Dependable, professional and enthusiastic about capturing the HWS experience
