Job Description
The Office of Alumni and Alumnae Relations (AAR) fosters long-term relationships with alumni to enhance affinity, pride, and confidence in Hobart and William Smith Colleges. Working alongside volunteers and campus partners, AAR channels alumni interests into meaningful support for the advancement of the Colleges. The AAR Student Assistant will assist with various programs and initiatives, gaining hands-on experience in event planning, public relations, sales, marketing and corporate communications.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Answer (and transfer) phone calls in a professional manner
- Assist with incoming and outgoing mail
- Assist in event promotion and provide support during on-campus events
- Assist with preparation of event materials and packing for events
- Data entry
- Run errands to and from main campus
- Provide support to the Alumni and Alumnae Relations team and occasionally to other Advancement departments and team members
- Perform general office tasks as needed (filing, copying, scanning, cleaning, mailing, etc.)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to bend, lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
- Must be able to sit or stand at a workstation to complete assigned work
