Chemistry Stockroom Assistant

Position Title: Chemistry Stockroom Assistant 

Semester/Year: 2026-2027 Academic Year 

Total Positions Available: 2-3

Supervisor: Emily Morse

Pay rate: $16 per hour 

Hours per wk: 2-3 hrs

Start Date: 9/2/2026 

End Date: May 2027

 

Position Summary

The Stockroom Assistant will assist the Chemistry Technician in the day-to-day upkeep of the department. 

 

Responsibilities

Tasks will vary depending on the department’s needs, but may include:

  • Dishwashing, laboratory cleaning, and general housekeeping 
  • Testing safety equipment 
  • Performing laboratory inspections
  • Organizing chemicals and equipment 
  • Maintaining the chemical inventory

 

This position involves working in laboratory settings and handling hazardous chemicals. Safety training will be provided. Previous laboratory experience is required. 

 

Job Requirements

  • Be enrolled at least half-time and be in good academic standing.
  • Have completed at least one semester of a college-level chemistry laboratory course.
  • Adhere to safety protocols (training will be provided.) 
  • Be able to stand, walk, and bend for the duration of the shift (2-3 hours.) 
  • Be able to lift up to 25 lbs. Qualifications 

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational skills. 
  • Attention to detail. 
  • Flexibility and willingness to learn new skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision. 
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel.
