Student Office Intern- Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

Position Title:  Student Office Intern, Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (Federal Work Study Eligible)

Semester/Year: 2026- 2027 Academic Year

Total Positions Available: 1

Supervisor: Nancy Cheri-Arif

Pay rate: $16 per hour 

Start Date: 9/2026

End Date: 5/2027

Hours per week: 5-8

 

Description

The Student Office Intern will support the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion with the various administrative and operational needs of the office. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, have strong communication and organizational skills, be a creative problem-solver, and be passionate about creating a community that centers belonging and intercultural engagement at HWS. The position offers opportunities to develop professional skills in communication, organization, project management, customer service, and teamwork. 

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Assist with communication efforts, including email outreach, social media, website updates, and marketing materials.
  • Support the planning, promotion, and implementation of office programs and events.
  • Perform general office duties (answer phones, greet visitors, run errands, etc.)
  • Help manage division calendars. 
  • Serve as a positive ambassador for the office and its mission.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

  • Demonstrate an awareness of and sensitivity to unique social, cultural, and economic circumstances of students. 
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 Office Suite
