Career Services Student Worker

Hours per week: 4-6

Pay rate: $16 per hour 

Start Date: 8/31/2026

End Date: 5/17/2027

 

The Career Services Student Worker supports the daily operations, programs, and student-facing services of the Career Services office. This role is ideal for a student who is organized, welcoming, detail-oriented, and interested in helping peers explore opportunities that support their intellectual, professional, and personal development.

As a member of the Career Services team, the Student Worker helps create an accessible and supportive environment for students, alumni, employers, families, and campus partners. The position offers hands-on experience in office administration, event support, communication, customer service, and professional development programming.

 

Responsibilities

  • Greet students, alumni, employers, families, and visitors in a professional and welcoming manner.
  • Assist with front desk coverage, appointment check-ins, phone calls, and general office inquiries.
  • Support scheduling, data entry, filing, document preparation, and other administrative tasks.
  • Help maintain accurate records in career services platforms and office systems.
  • Assist with career-related events, workshops, employer visits, fairs, panels, and networking programs.
  • Prepare materials for appointments, presentations, tabling, and campus events.
  • Support marketing and outreach efforts, including flyers, email drafts, social media content, and event promotion.
  • Help students navigate basic Career Services resources, including appointment scheduling, event registration, job/internship platforms, and online tools.
  • Maintain confidentiality when handling student information and office materials.
  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and collaborative office environment.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by Career Services staff.
