Description
WHWS is the low-power FM (LP FM) student radio station serving the HWS campus community and immediate City of Geneva. The station offers music, sports, and Spanish language programming. WHWS also offers a digital audio stream available to listeners anywhere.
Student Producers are involved in every aspect of WHWS operations. Producers assist in evaluating and preparing music for airplay, conceiving, and producing audio and video projects. Creating and implementing interstitial programming elements as well as short audio and video production for broadcast, podcast, and social media.
Responsibilities
- Audio and video production including recording, editing, and preparing for broadcast and streaming
- Script writing
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Ability to work independently without constant direct supervision
Qualifications
- Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
- Strong computer skills with knowledge or familiarity with multi-media software is helpful, but not required
- Excellent written and verbal communication, strong editing skills, especially short-form writing
- Applicants must be a current HWS student
- First consideration will be given to students with experience volunteering at WHWS
