Description:
Wells Book Arts Center, a new resource on campus featuring antique printing equipment and book making tools, seeks a student to support our communications efforts by creating and editing video content. This is an exciting opportunity to practice your video making skills in the photogenic environment of metal and wood type, ink, printing presses, and the hand stitching of books.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Director in conceiving and planning video content to highlight Wells Book Arts Center’s educational opportunities
- Record activities of class visits throughout the semester
- Record staged demonstrations
- Edit videos and create graphics, creating concise and engaging content that will become a video catalog of course visit/activity options for faculty across the college
- Exercise self-direction in content editing
- Comply with best safety practices in the studio
Qualifications:
- Applicants must have experience with video creation and editing
- Strong communication and design skills
- Self-motivated with an ability to take initiative on projects, while taking direction and an ability to ask questions when needed
- Attention to detail
- An ability to complete projects
- Availability to work fall semester, with some variability in schedule
