Position Title: Civic Leader of Literacy

Pay rate: $15/hr
Hours per Week: 2-4

End Date: May 5, 2025
Position Description:
- Assist CCESL Assistant Director with oversight and organization of HWS Corps tutoring program
- Assist with the recruiting and hiring process of tutors and coordinators
- Assist with preparation and facilitation of HWS Corps trainings
- Develop HWS Corps semester schedule to incorporate relevant readings and outside trainers
- Organize HWS Corps training sessions by finding session leaders, discussing ways to improve tutoring, parent-tutor communication, and ensuring attendance
- Constantly look for ways to improve new Virtual Tutoring effort
- Support HWS Corps coordinators
- Maintain Book Nook (i.e., keep it clean and organized) (if needed)
- Create and contribute to communication efforts:
- Create social media posts for updates
- Potential to plan events for tutors/parents/students
Qualifications:
- Candidates will need to be excellent at managing their time and be prompt for every meeting.
- Candidates must be dependable, as this job involves working with community partners.
- Candidates must be patient, helpful, and sensitive to the challenges the community faces and help to find creative solutions to the struggles or problems.
- Candidates must be able to keep a positive attitude, and are encouraged to demonstrate leadership and initiative.
- Candidates must demonstrative effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Bilingual HWS students are encouraged to apply
