Job Description

Alumni and Alumnae Relations Student Intern

 

The Offices of Alumni and Alumnae Relations (AAR) foster long-term relationships with alums to enhance affinity, pride, and confidence in Hobart and William Smith Colleges. Working alongside volunteers and campus partners, the AAR channel alums' interests into meaningful support for the Colleges' advancement. The AAR Student Assistant will aid various programs and initiatives, gaining hands-on experience in event planning, public relations, sales, marketing, and corporate communications.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Answer (and transfer) phone calls in a professional manner
  • Assist with incoming and outgoing mail
  • Assist in event planning and promotion and provide support during on-campus events
  • Assist with preparation of event materials and packing for events
  • Data entry
  • Run errands to and from main campus
  • Provide support to staff members of the Alumni and Alumnae Relations team
  • Perform general office tasks as needed (filing, copying, scanning, cleaning, mailing, etc.)

  • Genuine affinity for Hobart and William Smith Colleges’ Mission through the work of AAR

  • Ability to work some evenings and weekends as needed

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 

  • Must be able to bend, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to sit or stand at a workstation per assigned work
